About Kelly

After graduating from college, I moved to Texas to work for a "mega-church." I stepped into an office where all design work was outsourced to a local design company. Five years later, I am an integral part of an in-house design team that creates web and print materials for large conferences, mailers sent to 40,000 homes, and versatile display units within the church. While working in the non-profit field, I've been lucky to have experiences that combine my design skills with personal interests. I have had freedom to explore multiple areas in design and to work on projects of all scales, ranging from simple flyers to multi-media display rooms.

Prior to moving to Texas, I had the opportunity to work at the Salt Lake City Olympics. Between watching speed skating trials from the production truck, I was traveling from venue to venue quality checking all on-screen graphics. The atmosphere at the Olympics was energetic and exciting, at times overwhelming. But I quickly learned how to cope with large organizations, high expectations, and working in multiple groups. In addition, this experience instilled in me a need for high quality results from my work.

All design projects present challenges. Sometimes it's hard to come up with an idea, and sometimes there are too many ideas. There are tight budgets, and tighter timelines. As a designer, it is overcoming these challenges that makes my job exciting.
